Satya Linak | @satya_linak

Satya Linak is a passionate Makeup Artist who brings professionalism and joy to all her work. Drawing on her background in fine arts and photography, she is adept at creating versatile looks that range from natural and luminous to highly imaginative conceptual art. Based in Los Angeles, she specializes in beauty, fashion, editorial, and celebrity makeup, along with being an educator and digital content creator.

Satya was already an award-winning jewelry designer when she studied at Make-Up Designory in Burbank, California. She was inspired to follow this path while battling cancer twice as a young adult. During her treatment she experimented with makeup and wigs and realized her life passion. Through this experience she discovered how makeup goes far beyond the superficial as a tool for self-transformation and a healing art that nourishes the spirit.

Satya has worked in all aspects of the industry. Starting with MAC Cosmetics as a freelance artist, she went on to help launch Surratt Beauty as their Lead Makeup Artist on the West Coast. She has worked with celebrity clients like John Leguizamo, Shirley Manson, Aloe Blacc, Korn, and Terri Nunn (Berlin), photographers and directors like David LaChapelle, Nick Knight, and Joseph Cultice, and advertising clients like NYX, Paul Mitchell, and Max Studio. Her editorial work has appeared in Vogue Italia, Paper Magazine, and Schön. She has also done runway shows for Tom Ford and the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund.

Most recently, Satya collaborated with eco friendly glitter company Wiggy Starlust to create Satyatara (Truth Star). Satyatara is a bold red with violet and gold integrations in a mesmerizing multi-hued spectrum of fire. Satya is thrilled to donate a portion of sales to the Fred Hutch Organization where she credits her victorious battle with cancer.

In her free time Satya lives for dirty chai latte dates, cackling with friends, playing with her cat, spreading love and positivity, finding the perfect red lipstick, collecting wigs, taking in art museums, hiking, and conceptualizing creative photo shoots.
